continue until the CKD landfill operations have been completed in
area E3. Limited reclamation will then be done since A3 is mostly
a pre-law area, with the MLRB permit covering only the fourth cut.
The reclamation will consist of partially filling with stripped
material from C4, and the breaking down of the hiwall 'to a safer
configuration.
A4 and A5 will receive stripped material from C3 and C4 as part of
the quarrying operation in those cuts. Fourth cut overburden piles
will be used for additional fill and cover, and the hiwall will be
broken back to safer configuration.
A6 and A7 have been reserved for use as a water supply reservoir,
but that usage no longer appears as necessary as in the past.
Reclamation on A7 will start this year, and reclamation on A6 will
follow immediately.
Current quarrying operations are concentrated in area E1. The
stripping was completed in early 1992, and 4 faces are being
quarried for production. Some minor additional production is
coming from weathered material in E2 and E4, but for
simplification this is not shown on the Time Line of Operations.
When quarrying is completed in El, and the CKD landfill in A2 is
completed, the CKD landfill operation will be moved to E1. It will
then be reclaimed with cover from the adjacent overburden piles.
The quarrying operations will then move northward into tike other E
• areas in sequence with the CKD landfill following, and the
reclamation being done by cover from the overburden piles. The
quarrying of the E areas will be completed with E5, and the CKD
landfill is projected to be completed in E4. North of 1;he middle
of E4, reclamation will be limited to the overburden on hand, and
the breaking down of any hiwalls. Finished topography will
resemble the pre-mining topography in flavor, with rocky west-
facing slopes, low cliffs, and native vegitation.
The C band areas provide supplimentary material for the raw mix
blend rather than the principal components. Its usage is projected
to be not more than 20% of the raw mix blend. C1 will bey produced
after the covering of the CKD landfill in A2. At that time the
overburden material stripped from C1 will be cast to the west onto
the top of the A2 area. At the completion of the quarrying of C1,
the overburden will be brought back for reclamation, and 1:he hiwall
will be broken down.
C2 will not be quarried until A3 has completed its dust suppressent
water function, at which time the overburden from C1 will be cast
to the west and used in the reclamation of A3. Reclamat.ion of C2
will consist of breaking down the hiwall, spreading the stripped
topsoil, and seeding with native vegetation.
C3 and C4 will be mined and reclaimed in a similar manner, with the
• overburden being used in the reclamation of A4 and A5.
