RECLAMATION COSTS
The worst case scenario of pit is the current state of the pit. 2500' of slopes would need to be
reclaimed. These slopes would not require additional fill material. Final slopes would be
achieved by dozing the crest of the slope down to the toe. The cross-sectional area of the slope is
--300 sgft. Therefore, the total slope volume would be 28,000 CYD. The buffer will need to
replaced as per the reclamation design. The western lake will need to be partially dewatered in
order to perform final slope work and topsoiling. The expected material to be moved for this
slope work is 10,000 CYD. Once slope work has been completed 12.5 acres of azea will need to
be topsoiled with 6" of material. (10,000CYD) After topsoiling all areas will be disced to remove
compaction. 10.06 acres will be revegetated using the dryland mix and 2.44 acres will be seeded
with the wetland mix. 1200 tublings will be applied to the shorelines at a material cost of $1.00
and an application cost of $1.00.
Reclamation Costs and Timetable
Task Description Time Needed Cost
# months
1 Regrade highwall slopes. 2500' of 0.5 $8,400
highwall, 300 sgft ofcross-sectional
area, 28,000 CYD to be moved on a
short push with a D8.
