It is expected that the volume of
topsoil to be stockpiled at any given time will approximately equal the volume of screening
berms shown. If there is any additional material, it will be stockpiled within the mine limits in
approximately the locations shown on the attached C-3: Mining Plan Map. There is practically
no overburden at this site. If it is necessary to stockpile small quantities of overburden, they will
be located within the mine pit, separate from any topsoil piles. Please see attached C-3: Mining
Plan Map showing the location of topsoil berms and stockpiles.
3. Revegetation and Location of Stockpiles: The applicant is committing to maintaining the
topsoil and overburden piles (if any) at slopes no steeper than 3H:1 V to minimize erosion
problems. The stockpiles will be revegetated using either ahydro-seeding or drill seeding
method. The revegetation of these stockpiles will minimize erosion problems and maximize
stability of the topsoil piles until they can be re-spread for reclamation. The screening berm
stockpiles will have varying heights and varying distances from County roads and property lines
to create a more aesthetically pleasing look to the area during the life of mining. The exterior
toe of these stockpiles will be located a minimum of 10 feet from the edge of County roads and
property lines, and the interior toe of the stockpiles will be a minimum of 50 feet from the top of
the mining cut. Please see the attached revised Exhibit C-3: Mining Plan Map for approximate
locations of topsoil screening berms and stockpiles.
4. Mine Plan: The applicant does propose to mine this site in a typical fashion at approximately
0.5H:1 V slopes. However, since there is very little waste material in this deposit and almost no
overburden, backfill will not be available on site to reclaim the slopes as shown on the enclosed
