' Immediately after collection, all samples must be placed in iced
coolers. The sample bottles required for each sample site are
listed in Table 5 (metals, cyanide). Sample preservation, pre-
, treatment and holding times, as outlined in Table 5, will be
strictly adhered to.
' 4.2.7 Sample Filtration: Process samples requiring on-site filtration
will be filtered through a 0.45-micron filter.
' Samples will be preserved directly following filtration.
' Filter apparatus will be cleaned by having the solutions "pulled"
' through the apparatus prior to and after each use in the following
manner:
' (1) mild non-phosphatic detergent wash;
(2) tap water rinse; and
' (3) final rinse with de-ionized water.
' Following a filtration series of no more than 10 samples, a rinse
blank will be collected from the cleaned apparatus or, if
' applicable, through an un-used filter cartridge, by running
laboratory-provided de-ionized, distilled water throughout the
entire filtering apparatus. Analysis of this rinse blank will be
' used to validate cleaning procedures.
' 4.3 Record Keeping
' All field data will be recorded in the Field Data Collection
Sheets. These data will include: weather conditions, volume of
water removed from the lysimeter, lysimeter designation or
location, the sequence in which the samples were t8ken, the
sampler's name and the condition of the lysimeter. A Field Data
Collection Checklist will also be filled out for each sample site

-32-
`J
