Wellington Downs Pit; Permit No. M-1995-035
The Division received Technical Revision 02 (TR-02) for the Wellington Downs Pit; Permit No. M-
1995-035 operated by Connell Resources, Inc. ("Connell"). Connell proposes to remove the planting
of trees and shrubs from the reclamation plan and retaining the temporary private driveway entrance
on site. The Division has the following comments regazding the revision;
1. Rule 6.2.1(2) requires that maps be signed by a registered land surveyor, professional engineer,
or other qualified person. The maps submitted to the Division were not signed. Please resubmit a
signed copy of the maps.
2. The operator proposing leaving an asphalt driveway 25 feet wide. Section 34-32.5-116(4)(a) of
the Colorado Land Reclamation Act for the Extraction of Construction Material states that grading
shall be carved on so to create a final topography appropriate to the final post-extraction land use
selected. Please further explain how leaving the 25 foot wide asphalt driveway will conform to the
approved reclamation plan.
3. Please state if any other roads will remain on site. If so, they will need to be noted on the
reclamation plan map.
4. Please inform the Division of the asphalt pad adjacent to the driveway will be reclaimed.
Please be advised that Division's decision due date is set for October 31, 29007. If you feel more
time is needed to complete your reply, the Division can gant an extension to the decision date. This
will be done upon receipt of a written waiver of your right to a decision by October 31, 2007 and
request for additional time. This must be received no later than the deadline date. If you have any
