Sand & Gravel, Inc., as etenced by the letter from theloandowner,
attached.
The revised Mining Plan Map reflects the approximate final disposition of
extraction activities and related basin shapes. Cross-hatched locations are
existing conditions. The Accessory Building will be retained for use as a
boat house as part of the reclaimed end-use (private recreation -
hunting/fishing). Revegetation may exceed, but will not be less than, the
type, quantities, and mixtures previously approved by the Division. The
reclamation timetable is modified by this submittal and will be updated at
the time of the 29 September, 2000, Annual Report Due Date.
Final extraction activities will remove up to 9.80± acres of resource in Lake
1, pending relocation of one or both gas lines intersecting the location as
shown in the revised mine plan map. All relocation will be done in
cooperation with H.S. Resources, Inc. A third basin will be created with the
recovery of 4.30± acres of resource, identified as Lake 3.
Silt from previous wash plant operations will be removed as product and
replaced selectively to enhance final lake shoreline features and as fill to
elevate lands North of Lake # 1. Extraction and fill will be manipulated to
enhance edge effect of all lakes, and may result in the creation of islands
and peninsulas, not otherwise reflected on the revised mine plan map.
Regardless, combined surface area of the lakes following completion of
resource recovery will not exceed the 126.7± acres of exposed groundwater
allocated for this location, as reflected in the following table:
LAKE EXISTING EXTRACTION TOTAL
AREA (acres) (acres)
1 42.00 9.80 51.80
2 59.00 00.00 59.00
3 00.00 4.30 4.30
TOTAL= 115.10
Finally, there are no unauthorized impacts to the Tectonic Wetland
Mitigation. Under the authority and direct supervision of the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers (Rex Fletcher, Tri-Lakes Project Office), streambank
erosion resulting from flows of St. Vrain Creek, are under repair. The
banks along St. Vrain Creek, to the extent shown on the revised Mining
Plan Map, are being backgraded to 3h:1v or flatter, while banks on the
Western interior of Lake 1 are being buttressed with additional material to
the approximate width indicated.
2
Correspondence of Thursday 23 March 2000 to DMG RE: DMG Permit M84-099 - Bailey Pit: Technical
Revision and Succession of Operator/ Permit Transfer: Hall-Irwin Construction Co. to Goose,Haven
Sand & Gravel, Inc..
