ncncn~~-•
APR 0 2 1998
Division of Minerals 6 Geology
M-77-170
12 March 1998
Mirii.zzg
u
D
ExYiibit
P l an
SoQL Beginning at the Phase 1 area the mining plan of the Hutala
~p Pit entails the striping of the 5 inch topsoil layer with a
wheeled loader and transporting the topsoil to the stockpile
ocated on the ea. Approximately 7000
~.w cubic yards of topsoil will be stored is a linear berm (550 x 60
~,b'`~g x 6 feet) for reclamation of cut / sloped banks.
Mining of the Phase area (10 to 12 Acres) entails a tracked
hoe machine for excavation and placement of the
graveley/boulder material into dump trucks for sorting with a
grissley and a screening plant to be located on the Phase Site.
No overburden material is anticipated to be removed or
stockpiled. All of the material, the gravel, sand, large and
small cobbles, and also very large boulders (3,5,7 cubic yards
each) are all marketable products. Road base material will also
to sorted and screened from the excavated material.
A concrete batch plant will receive aggregate material
transported by dump truck The sand wash plant and stockpile
area near the Arkansas River will revive it's material by dump
truck.
Five interconnecting sand wash retention ponds are located
within the affected area of the Sand wash and Stockpile area.
These ponds are 100 to 160 feet in length, 30 to 60 feet in
width and are three to four feet deep.
The Phased mining areas are 10 to 12 acres each.
It is eapected that 3 to 5 years will be the duration of
each phase/area for mining.
The area to be mined is a gravelly-sand-rock cobble
material with intermittent large boulders and extends from below
the topsoil layer to approximately 40 feet in depth.
The material below our mine-able material is a highly
compacted glacial/basin fill material.
The primary commodities to be mined/excavated are the road
base material and the concrete aggregates.
The secondary commodities are the decorative rock products
derived by screening / sorting of the granite cobbles and the
occassional rip/rap and decorative boulders.
Our water uses -- The pipelines connecting our spring water
source to the Sand Wash Plant and for dust control and ultimate
irrigation to replanted cut slopes-- are in complinace with our
Water Rights 'xoppers Springs Unit 'A' and 'H' (Szhipit 'G').
No silty or graveley water discharges will occur from our
operations into the Arkansas River.
No other or adjoining water rights will be affected by our
operation.
