Hansen
Planning Division
Boulder County
P.O. Box 471
Boulder, Colorado 80306
Dear Ste
We have reviewed application NAR-79-4 by Flatiron Sand and Gravel . We
appreciate the opportunity to comment. We have also met with the applicant.
Jim Craine of the City of Boulder Real Estate and Open Space Department
informs us that there was a prior commitment made by Don Walker to accept
additional flood waters on real estate controlled by the City in the manner
outlined in the application. Based on this commitment, the proposal 1s ac-
ceptable.
The City is proposing a housing development at the Tantra site and we
are continuing to work with Flatirons to assure drainage and flood control
for this site.
It appears that Flatirons has done a thorough engineering study, some of
which is included in the special review booklet.
We do request that the berm be done so as to have as natural an appearance
as possible. The applicant's statement on page 8: "Following construction,
the embankment will be revegetated with grasses found in the area" is satis-
factory, but we would encourage you to assure that all the area torn up by the
construction, which will then remain as. open space, be revegetated with grasses.
Sincerely yours,
(OEC
Ed Gawf
Assistant Planning Director
EG/pg
cc: Margaret A.
