Permit No M-1977-342
Type of Interaction: Meeting Phone Other
Person(s) contacted and affiliation: Erich Bower. Environmental Coordinator, Henderson Mill.
3031569-3221 ext. 2214
Summary and Resolution oI Interaction: In the 1 1-14-00 inspection report for the Henderson Mill, the
Division of Minerals and Geology required that an affirmative statement be provided that both pumps in the
3-Dam pump station are operational. The 3-Dam pump station will operate as an interim Environmental
Protection Facility until the 3-Dam seepage pipeline project is completed during the spring and summer of
2001. Mr. Bower stated that Henderson has decided to install only one rebuilt pump in the 3-Dam station. In
the case that the reconditioned pump was to fail, there is ample storage in the seepage collection ponds to allow
time to repair the pump or bring in a portable replacement. Also, the pump station is only being used at this
time as a back up to the seepage pipelines that have been installed and pressure tested. I told Mr. Bower [hat
a single pump was acceptable to the Division at this time.
c:\windows\personal\hendersan 3-dam pu mp.doc
