General Overview
Weld County is amending it original (1 ]2) Koenig Gravel Pit pemut M-80-120 to allow dewatering
at the facility. Our original application in 1980 reflected a drag line operation. Since then, we have
acquired a dewatering discharge permit, and we are currently using dozers and scrapers at our mining
operations.
The only thing that we would be amending in the application would be items that reflect the
dewatering operation of the facility, such as the mining plan, water management and the drawings.
Please find attached under Exhibit N "Other Permits and Licenses" our current permits from the
Colorado Department of Health, State Engineer, US Army Corps of Engineers, Weld County
Planning Department, SUP-426..80..16 permit and an agreement from Central Colorado Water
Conservancy District to augmentate water evaporation at the facility.
Weld County had been contacted by the Division and property owners of the surrounding area that
we were pumping down their wells in the spring. Our new dewatering plan would consist of diking
the portion of the pond and only pumping down a small area (minor disturbance) leaving a good
source of water and/or a construction trench on the same side as the wells. This should reassure a
good source of water to the adjacent property owners.
P~
:dewaler.dc
