EXHIBIT K CLIMATE
A. Seasonal Precipitation
Meld County has a climate consisting of semiarid steppe with mod-
erately cold winters and warm summers. The area has low relative
humidity and less than 15 inches of precipitation a year. The pre-
cipitation is mainly in the form of thunderstorms, occasionally
accompanied by hail and strong winds. Most of the precipitation
occurs during the 140 day growing season. This amount is sufficient
to support native grasses and shrubs.
G. Temperature Ranges
Seasonal temperatures range between an average of 23.8°F in January
to 74.8°F during July. Periodic extremes find temperatures falling
near zero a few days each winter and sunder hot spells in the 90's,
lasting one to two weeks.
