<br />Dacano Clay loam <br />This is a deep, well drained soil formed in mixed alluvium. Included are <br />some long, narrow streaks of sand ahd gravel deposits. Typically the sur- <br />face layer is grayish brown clay loam about 12 inches thick. The subsoil <br />is grayish brown ciay loam about 15 inches thick. Depth to sand and gravel <br />ranges from 20 to 40 inches. Permeability is moderately slow and available <br />water capacity is moderate. Effective rooting depth is 20 to 40 incises, <br />~-- <br />surface run-off is slow, and erosion hazard is slow. <br />C. Suitability for Plant Growth <br />The Altvan loam soil is suited for all crops cormronly groo-m in the area. <br />blindbreaks and environmental plantings are generally well suited on this soil. <br />All trees and shrubs adapted to this area will grow. This soil can produce <br />habitat elements highly suitable for openland wildlife including plrcasants, <br />cottontail and mourning doves. <br />
