Cottony
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has reviewed Casey's submission of a Technical
Revision to eliminate the earthen barrier between the Chambers Pit and the Casey Concrete Pit Permit
Number M-1978-349. The Division sees no problem with the revision as it will simply create one larger
lake rather than the 2 now proposed.
United representative Brent Kerr has submitted Water Court Documentation that indicates the approved
Augmentation Plan is for 23 acres and there are only 17 currently disturbed. Therefore, staff is pleased
to inform Casey Concrete that TR-02 for the reconfi¢Llration of the reclaimed lake is approved.
The Financial Warranty for this site was reviewed 3 years ago. The approved Technical Revision does
not impact the reclamation liability in a negative way so a recalculation is not warranted until the next
scheduled inspection.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South Third Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970-241-1117.
Sincerely,
G.
