Section 34-32-112 (7) allows for extension of the five year <br />timeframe "...upon a finding that additional time is necessary for the completion of the terms of the <br />reclamation plan". The Act does not authorize permitting of mining operations in perpetuity as would be <br />the case if the permit contains provisions for a perpetual discharge, or perpetual treatment of discharge <br />from the retorts. <br />DRMS is willing to discuss an extension of the five year reclamation timeframe to allow for <br />characterization of the geologic and hydrologic conditions in and around the retorts in order to <br />determine the best course of action for permanent reclamation of the Logan Wash mine. <br />6.
