Your email refers to working on a
Conversion Application. However, I believe that you are actually working on an Amendment to as
existing 110-Limited Impact Permit. If this is incorrect, please let us know as soon as possible.
In your email you Snake references to pte-law and/orpre-Gold Basin Mine permit disturbance asserting
that Gold Basin should not be responsrble for such disturbance. You mentioned that there should be some
type of record from our Division stating that the pte~mining disturbance is well known and docume~ed. It
is up to the operator to state and document what has been disturbed pre-law ar prior to permitting a sift.
Prior to approving the amendment application, the Division will determine whether to accept this
designation of pre-law or pra-permit disd>rbance. If such disturbance is not pre-law orpre-permit and less
occurred as a result of acti»ties conducted under Permit M-1992-045, the operator is required to reclaim
such disturbance according to the agreed upon reclamation plan. 1n addition, if the operator distuibs apre-
law area ordisturbs apre-pemrit area, then reclamation will be required.
Therefore, please define disturbance areas on the mine plan map of the amended and expanded permit area
that you assert are not your responsibility. The DMG will then check this map against our knowledge of
the site and existing Division records.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please write or contact me at 303,866-3863.
ly ~~
I B.
