Dear Mr. Meyers:
The purpose of this letter is to certify that at a hearing of the Board of
County Commissioners of the County of Boulder, State of Colorado, duly called
and held on January 5, 1989, in consideration. of the request described as
follows:
Docket #SU-88-14, Deepe Farm Pit
Request: Approval Tor Special Use and Site Specific Development Plan to
continue mining
Location: 4800 Table Mesa Drive, in Sections 9 S 16, T1S, R70W
the following action was taken:
The Board of County Commissioners of the County of Boulder, State of
Colorado, APPROVED the request for Special Use and Site Specific
Development I— an
subject to the following conditions:
1 ) The operation of Deepe Farm Pit Continuation shall proceed as
conditionally approved by the Board of County Commissioners on
January 11 , 1982 under Docket SU-81-10 Deepe Farm Pit except as
the terms and conditions of that approval have been explicitly
modified by the application and committments of record during this
review or specifically changed as a condition of this review. The
approved site plan for the Deepe Farm Continuation shall be that
map labeled Deepe Pit Excavation Plan with Sales and Weight Facility
Added 10/26/88.
2) That the state noise standards for residential areas apply to the
mining site and that sound be measured and calculated according to
the accepted standards of the U. S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA). A monitoring program is to be conducted by a
professional acoustics consultant at the applicant's expense. The
monitoring site is to be located immediately behind the property
known as 1230 Chambers Drive. The monitoring procedure is to be
as proposed on page 4 of the December 2, 1981 letter from Charles
M. Salter Associates. Additional monitoring as spot checks and also
in response to any complaints will be done by county staff with the
assistance of qualified city of Boulder or Boulder County personnel.
