EXHIBIT L
RECLAMATION COSTS
--` -_
1
i J ~ ? _ 7..
Y~ ( ~~~
i --
The maximum amount of area that can be disturbed (as a condition of Holcim (iJS) Inc.'s
air quality permit) has been affected amounts to 400 acres.
As indicated in the Mining Pian, 60 acres within this existing permit area have been
released from bond: one area in 1987 and the other in 1990. These azeas are indicated on
the Reclamation Plan Map (Exhibit F.) In the area released from Bond in 1990,
approximately 4-5 acres will need to be disturbed for the relocation of Bear Creek.
The quarry will advance approximately 32 acres per year. The cuts, indicated on the
Mining Plan Map, range in size from approximately 24 (Cut 1) to 40 acres (Cut 17) and
average 30 acres each. The amount of time to mine each of these cuts is currently
estimated to range from 1.3 years to 2.9 years.
The following table is an estimate of reclamation costs per acre.
Table L-1
Estimation of Reclamation Costs
Premixed Seed $/acre 180.50 $/acre
To soil S readin $/acre 50.00 $/acre
To soil Load/Haul/Dum $Iacre 250.00 $/acre
Broadcastin $/acre 5.00 $/acre
Crim in ($/acre) 8.00 $/acre
Straw ($/acre) 225.00 $/acre
Final Gradin $/acre) 10.00 $/acre
~E~~~~~~
AUG 2 02002
Division of Minerals and 6auir,~~y
27 of 34
