Sieve analysis of this material has shown that approximately 70% is below 200 mesh in
size. This is more or less clay with some silt and the material gets a major portion of its
strength from cohesion. It is planned to spread this material in a layer of approximately 1-3
feet thick on the regraded gravel slope of 3H:1V. This material should be compacted with a
dozer (of D-8 size or lazger) to 90% of its maximum dry density. The slope should then be
seeded and mulched as described in the reclamation plan to reduce erosion. If these
measures are taken, the overburden cover will also be stable and should not erode.
3. CONCLUSIONS
Ths slope safety factor as described is more than adequate to provide long term safety under
all possible conditions. I, Greg Lewicki, P.E., hereby certify that the procedures of mining
and reclamation of the final slopes for this pit amendment, as outlined above, will produce
very stable slopes for the short and long term.
C~
Pp0 H E"C~o~sTB'
ca~• y~Qd C. ~F~qe` p~~~~J't
s 20335
.~~ wW 7 f ag~~~
o~~,q~,~~r~, ~a
'"'~POIYA~~
r~
~J
