American Gypsum has
proposed relocating one of the previously approved sediment dams, dam P5, approximately
'' 1,100 feet downstream from the original location. The approximate coordinates of the relocated
dam are N13,875 and E16,475.
The sediment dam must be capable of adequately handling runoff associated with the 100-year/
24-hour storm event of 2.8 inches. The access tnaiatenance road wiII be routed to the site from
' existing sediment dam P4. Layout of the dam and spillway and design of appropriate dam
slopes, dam crest width, spillway geometry, and erosion protection will be consistent with
Colorado State Engineer guidelines.
' Summarization of the work is included in the attached design report, which contains the
construction drawings and technical specifications. The construction drawings include the
' following sheets; Cover Sheet, Project Layout Plan, Plan and Profile of the Access Maintenance
Road, Plan and Profile of the Relocated Sediment Dam, Typical Sediment Dam Sections and
Details, and Typical Access Road Sections and Details.
Yours tntly,
G~~ ~ ,
'' Stephen A.
