Box 4362 <br />Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 <br />July 29, 2003 <br />Division of Minerals and Geology--Dept of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman St., Rm. 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re; Canyon Sand & Gravel Pernut No. M-1988-057, completion of 110 Construction <br />Materials Reclamation Permit Amendment Application Package, AM-1 <br />This letter addresses the issues requested in order for the application to be complete. <br />The operator is Canyon Sand and Gravel, the same as the name on the permit, signed and <br />dated June 18th 2003. <br />EXIBIT B <br />a. The soil in the proposed area of disturbance is sandy with gravel underneath. For the <br />operation, the soil will be removed and stockpiled for replacement and reclamation at the <br />finish. The vegetation is sparse weeds and grass because it is currently an area that is <br />slightly too high for any irrigation so it must be disturbed in order to become good <br />pasture anyway. And the use of the land after the reclamation will return to pasture. <br />See original permit. <br />b. There are no other permanent man-made structures than the overhead electric power <br />lines that will not be affected, and buried telephone line that will not be disturbed.. See <br />map. <br />c. There aze no water resources near the proposed are that will be affected in any way by <br />drainage from the new stockpile azea. <br />EXHIBIT E <br />a No slope will be greater than 3 to 1 <br />b. No vegetation will be below high water mazk <br />c. See attached Reclamation Plan Map <br />d. 8c e. Covered under original permit. Topsoil that has been removed will be replaced <br />to the grade needed for pasture reclamation and seeded with good grass. <br />EXHIBIT F <br />No new permits or licenses required since original permit. <br />EXHIBIT G <br />Same as in original permit. <br />
