'i ~ ~~
BEFORE THE MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD
STATE OF COLORADO
RECEIVE®
REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE Jl1N Z 3 2000
Division of Minerals & Geology
IN THE MATTER OF AMERICAN SODA, L.L,P., YANKEE
GULCH SODIUM MINERALS PROJECT, FILE N0. M-99-002./
C~(R -03~
In accordance with Stipulation 1, third bullet of the Rider
To Mining Permit, dated July 16, 1999, American Soda L.L.P.
hereby requests a continuance of the formal public hearing
scheduled in July 2000 regarding a Technical Revision to
Permit No. M-99-002. This Technical Revision is with regard
to the Ambient Ground Water Quality Data to be collected
through implementation of the Ground Water Characterization
Plan for the Yankee Gulch Project.
American Soda requests this continuance of the hearing due
to delays in receiving all of the required groundwater
quality data from the analytical laboratory. In the absence
of this data, American Soda can not complete the Ambient
Ground Water Quality Report, nor the related Technical
Revision to Mining and Reclamation Permit M-99-002, which
is the subject of the proposed public hearing.
American Soda believes that all of the data necessary to
complete the Ambient Groundwater Quality Report will not be
available and incorporated into that report until July
2000. Accordingly, American Soda would request the public
hearing on Ambient Groundwater Quality and the Technical
Revision implementing same be continued until August 2000.
f
Kurt ~R. Nielsen
General Manager
American Soda, L.L.P.
