The location is in Sec. 10,
Ti8S - R68W 6tl' PM, containing 9.9 acres.
I talked by telephone with Mr. Tom Murray, co-owner of Lakewood Brick & Tile and later
visited the site to check on success of the revegetation planting.
I found a good mix of mostly reseeded species, including sideoats grams, sweet clover, alfalfa,
sand bluestem, blue grams, Russian wildrye, Indian ricegrass, sand dropseed, Bottlebrush,
squirretait, rabbitbrush and fourwing saltbrush, Slopes are stable with only minor soil erosion.
The flat quarry bottom is showing more remnants of the gray clays and shale and less grass.
Still, the bottom has a fair stand of Russian wildrye and sideoats grams.
In my opinion the site has been successfully revegetated and reclaimed.
Sincerely, /r~ /'
i
~~~ `~
Roy Roper
Soil Conservationist
cc: Joan Adair, President Fremont SCD
CONSERVATION -DEVELOPMENT - $ELF-GOVERNMENT
