ATTACHMENT A
The following is a short list of mine sites that have employed or are currently employing
hydrogen peroxide for cyanide detoxification.
1. DeLamar Mine Site
Southwestern Idaho
NERCO - DeLamar Company
Contatct: Rick Lambert
(208) 583 - 2511
Degussa Corporation provided hydrogen peroxide and technical assistance for the
detoxification of a 200 acre tailings impoundment for the DeIamar Mine site.
Cyanide concentrations were reduced from approximately 220 ppm to less than 30
ppm.
2. Warrick Goldstrike Mine
Eureka County, Nevada
Bamck Goldstrike Mines Inc.
Contact: Bob Brewer
(702) 738 - 8043
Warrick Goldstrike is currently using a hydrogen peroxide destruction system to
maintain sodium cyanide concentrations (measured as free cyanide) in their tailings
impoundment at less than SOppm, as required in the facility's water pollution
control permit.
3. Annie Creek Mine
Lead, South Dakota
Wharf Resources
Contact: Brad Thrall
(605) 584-1441, ext. 104
Precious metals recovery at the Annie Creek Mine is achieved using reusable heap
leach pad. Ore is loaded onto the pad, leached, rinsed, and then offloaded. Wharf
Resources is currently employing a hydrogen peroxide system for the continuous
detoxification of their heaps prior to offloading.
