Will & Anna Hutchins
1735 H75 Road
Delta, CO 81416
Mr. Steve Shuey January 3, 2006
DMG Grand Junction Field Office
101 South 3rd Street, Room 301
Grand Junction, CO 81501
Dear Mr. Shuey,
We have discussed the adequacy issue regarding the trees on my property and the water
drawdown which will occur as a result of the mining operations with Oldcastle SW
Group, Inc. dba United Companies of Mesa County. These trees are of importance to us;
we will take the responsibility of watering these trees and sustaining the water intake. To
water these trees we are using the existing irrigation ditch which runs near the trees, by
diverting water from the ditch to the trees.
We anticipate that the 100 ft. buffer incorporated into the mining plan; which we will
plant with trees and shrubs, and which we will also irrigate will be adequate to protect the
existing trees mentioned above, and also allow the new plantings to flourish.
Sincerely,

Will Hutchins
