s*
incompatible today. Any expansion of operations including rock crushing will
potentially shift the Swan Valley from aresidential/recreational valley to a commercial
one. Expanded commercial operations will increase noise and dust pollution, affect
safety on Tiger Road from gravel hauling trucks, compromise the advantages of Open
Space and Back Country, and Decrease the serenity of the valley. Obviously these
changes will have a dramatic affect on property values in the area, which will
subsequently affect Tax revenues for the county.
In closing, there is no benefit to the residents of the Swan Valley to grant a Regular
Reclamation Permit. Granting this permit only benefits Everist Materials at the expense
ofhundreds of land owners in the valley. County planning authorities have been actively
engaged in managing this particular parcel with input from the residents and land owners
affected, and this authority should not be hindered or circumvented so that Everist
Materials can change the nature of the Swan valley for their own profit. I request that
*.his pe.;nit be denied. ~ -
Sincerely,
~E`~
Jeff and Carol Hjort '~
P.O.
