Strachan, <br />P.E. of Water, Waste & Land, Inc. (WWL). Clint infonr~ed that he <br />will provide the requested Proposal Letter by FAX no later than <br />Monday morning. For your information, I will be absent the office <br />from next Tuesday, October 19, until Monday, October 25, 1993. <br />Larry Oehler is the lead specialist for the San Luis Project. You <br />should forward all submittals and requests to Larry's attention. <br />As I responded when you first inquired earlier this week, I would <br />prefer that BMRI not communicate directly with WWL without first <br />obtaining Division approval. I and Clint have brieflp discussed <br />your request that WWL consider commencing work prior to the <br />execution of the formal contract, upon receipt of a letter of <br />commitment to compensate them from Battle Mountain Gold. Clint <br />indicated that he and his staff may be able to commence <br />familiarization (Task 1) next week. You may discuss your request <br />with Clint directly. If Clint is amenable, you may forward the <br />letter to WWL and FAX a copy to Larry Oehler and me. Please limit <br />your discussion with Clint to the subject of your reque:et for pre- <br />contract initiation of Task 1. <br />Your list of proposed permit documentation appears a~~propriate. <br />You may forward them to WWL. The Division may forward additional <br />materials to WWL next week. <br />I suspect it will be premature for WWL to attempt to vi;eit the San <br />Luis Project next week. The Division intends to acC.ompany WWL <br />personnel to your site during their initial visit. I plsn to visit <br />the San Luis Project on Tuesday afternoon, October 26t1i. <br />
