The Water Well Conelruotton Rules (April, 1985, Revised August 1, 1998), <br />Rule 10.4.3 provides for the construction of dewatering, monitoring and observation and <br />recovery wells to be ~nstruded with less than 20 feet of steel casing.. However, Rule 11, <br />Monitoring end Observation Holes and Test Holes; requUres that the construction of these <br />holes comply with the construction and.plugging standards sperified within the Rules, A copy <br />of the applicable rules is available from~the Division of Water Resources. <br />The Typical Well Design provided to our office has been reviewed for the Board of <br />Examiners of Water Well Consirucllon end Pump Installation Contractors. The request <br />appears to be for a variance from Rules 10.3.1, 10.4.3, 10.5.2.1 and 12.3. <br />Pursuant to Rule 18 and the authority granted by the Board, a general variance <br />to Rules 10.3.1, 10.4.3, 10.5.2.1 end 12.3 is.pranted to Resource Geosdence, inc. for <br />monitoring holes sub)ect to the following conditions:` <br />1) The monitoring hole construction will be in accordance with the Water Well <br />Construction Rules except those rules from which a variance is approved. <br />2} The well and well head construction is in acxordance with the Typical Weli <br />Design plan provided. <br />3) Please provide a copy of this variance approval with all notice of intent to <br />construct monitoring holes and permit applications submitted to this office. <br />
