RECEIVED <br />DEC 12Zp06 <br />DivMinin of Reclamation, <br />EXHIBIT S---PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES 9 and Safety <br />County Road 228 accesses the mining property from US Highway 50 and traverses the <br />affected lands at two locations. County Road 228 has remained open for public use at all <br />times unless temporarily blocked off during blasting operations. Progression of mining <br />operations 10-15 years in the future may entail re-location of Road 228 to the southern <br />end of the current mining zone (see future mine plan map Exhibit Cc) to facilitate access <br />to the west slope above cunent mining operations. Road re-location will be approved by <br />USFS prior to any changes made in the current route through and above the Taylor Gulch <br />historic and active mining area. <br />The former power line right-of -way formerly serviced the Garfield Mine, which <br />terminates at the Garfield adit entrance, which has been grated by Division of Minerals <br />and Geology Abandoned Mine actions app. twenty years ago. The historic right-of--way <br />is now limited to anon-maintained clearing through the forest, old power poles, cable, <br />and mine related metal trash. An adit opening gated and secured by Colorado <br />Abandoned Mined Land actions within the past twenty years is located in the <br />southeastern corner of the affected land boundazy. The closed adit will not be disturbed. <br />This structure is located on Colorado Mazble property. <br />Due to the inclusion of Forest Service Road 228 into the permitted/affected land area, a <br />number of privately owned structures along the lower reaches of FS Road 228. These <br />structures are identified on Map C(A) a detail map of Garfield, CO, former town-site <br />along Highway US 50. Each landowner will be sent notarized statements of commitment <br />by Colorado Marble, Inc., for acknowledgement and signage. Completed, executed, and <br />notarized documents will be sent to DMG for file. <br />35 <br />
