Geotechnical Data Technical Memorandum <br />Hazeltine -Road Runners Rest H Gravel Pit Lining Project <br />December 2000 <br />2.0 LITERATURE SEARCH AND REVIEW <br />2.1 General <br />GEI obtained and reviewed available documents on local geology and groundwater, mining <br />permits for each pit, local permitted existing water wells, and local permitted existing septic <br />systems. GEI vas assisted in data collection by Denver Water. The following documents were <br />reviewed: <br />• Mining permit application for the Road Runners Rest II Pit. <br />• Applications for amendments to mining permit applications for eachpit, including <br />well data (prepared by Environmental, Inc. for the Hazeltine and Road Runner <br />Rest II Pits, and prepared by Mobile Premix Concrete Inc. for the Howe-Haller <br />Pit); <br />• Letters prepared by the Mined Land Reclamation Division (NERD) responding <br />to amendment applications and requesting further information from the <br />amendment applicants; <br />• Letters of technical revisions by the applicants to the MLRD; <br />• A waterresource study for the Hazeltine Pit prepared by Leonazd Rice Consulting <br />Water Engineers Inc.; <br />• Sewage disposal system applications from Tri-County Health Department; and <br />• Geologic Map of Denver, 1° x 2° Quadrangle, North-Central Colorado, Index <br /># I1163. <br />A summary of the results of our literature search and review are provided in the following <br />sections. <br />2.2 Mining Permits <br />' Each of the three gravel pits has been permitted for mining through the MLRD, and the permits <br />for each gravel pit have been amended.
