Box ot~;~ ~/s ~~ Telluride, CO 81435 ~ ~ev~ ItE: Administrative Approval: Wetland Mitigation Project for Pathfinder Pit Deaz Mr. Smith: The purpose of this correspondence is to serve as an Administrative Approval for a Wetland Special Use Permit for a wetland mitigation project to fill a wetland in order to relocate a roadway on the Pathfinder Gravel Pit property. This approval is granted based on a determination that this project is consistent with the San Miguel County Land Use Code Section 5-2203 A. I. the proposed development is required to provide protection against property loss andlor damage. Filling of the wetland azea will require the applicant to engage in the restoration of wetland areas in order to offset, in whole or in part, the wetland losses resulting from an applicant's proposed actions. The proposed development requires compliance with the wetland area-protection engineering measures detailed in your submittal and site plan from Chris Hazen received October 17, 2002 including: 1. Compliance with all conditions of U.S. Army Corps Permit Number 199975336; 2. Mitigation area needs to be maintained at the required acreage in perpetuity. Future disturbance of this area shall be prohibited without prior County approval. Issuance of future development permits will depend on compliance with these wetland protection measures.
