Box ot~;~ ~/s ~~ <br />Telluride, CO 81435 <br />~ ~ev~ <br />ItE: Administrative Approval: Wetland Mitigation Project for Pathfinder Pit <br />Deaz Mr. Smith: <br />The purpose of this correspondence is to serve as an Administrative Approval for a <br />Wetland Special Use Permit for a wetland mitigation project to fill a wetland in order to <br />relocate a roadway on the Pathfinder Gravel Pit property. This approval is granted <br />based on a determination that this project is consistent with the San Miguel County Land <br />Use Code Section 5-2203 A. I. the proposed development is required to provide <br />protection against property loss andlor damage. <br />Filling of the wetland azea will require the applicant to engage in the restoration of <br />wetland areas in order to offset, in whole or in part, the wetland losses resulting from an <br />applicant's proposed actions. The proposed development requires compliance with the <br />wetland area-protection engineering measures detailed in your submittal and site plan <br />from Chris Hazen received October 17, 2002 including: <br />1. Compliance with all conditions of U.S. Army Corps Permit Number 199975336; <br />2. Mitigation area needs to be maintained at the required acreage in perpetuity. Future <br />disturbance of this area shall be prohibited without prior County approval. <br />Issuance of future development permits will depend on compliance with these wetland <br />protection measures.
