During our conversation, you stated the Department
of Minerals and Geology (DMG) will approve the technical revision with the stipulation that four
monitoring wells be sampled. The existing wells do not meet the needs of monitoring wells due
to the depth of the wells. Based on the existing well logs, the first aquifer is at approximately 50
feet below the surface. The shallowest existing well is approximately 220 feet.
Based on the current conditions described above, Mining and Minerals II, Ltd. proposes to install
two shallow monitoring wells: one upstream of the project disturbance and one downstream at ft
permit boundary. In addition,Mining and Minerals 11, Ltd. will monitor two of the existing wells.
This letter and the enclosed map provide approximate locations for the two shallow monitoring
wells and the two existing wells proposed for monitoring.
We will contact a local drilling company and proceed with installation following approval by the
DMG for the Dr000sed wells locations.
Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Bruce Cloud at (210) 299-1100 or myself at
(702) 738-2265.
Sincerely,
KNIGHT PIESOLD LLC
Richard A.
