a laboratory for analyses of the parameters listed in Table G.1-2
of the approved permit.
Two single stage sediment samplers are located at each station
to measure sediment flow. These results are analyzed as frequently
as necessary based on storm flows.
An extensive analysis of the monitoring results will be
performed annually. Less extensive analyses will be performed more
frequently. The surface water program will be re-evaluated annually
to ensure that the monitoring program and sampling frequency are
adequate.
2.5 Pit Inflows
The south wall of the West Pit will experience some seepage
toward and into the pit from the Rito Seco through the surface
alluvium, if exposed during the mining operations, and to a lesser
extent the Santa Fe Conglomerate. The extent of the surface alluvium
along the south wall cannot be determined until mining exposes this
area. As discussed in the approved permit, during mining operations
the seepage into the pit through the Santa Fe Conglomerate will be
monitored for quantity to verify the groundwater conditions and the
expected post-mining conditions.
2.6 Spill Resoonse Monitoring
Spill response monitoring is detailed in the San Luis Project
Emergency Response Plan. The spill response monitoring for the San
Luis Project will be determined on a case by case basis in accordance
with the guidelines established in the approved Emergency Response
Plan.
