Wal<her
Ezecutive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division completed a technical review of your response to the Division's adequacy letter. In
clarification of the Division's position regazding blasting operations, your assumption that the
point of measurement for the established blasting standards is the nearest structure to the permit
boundazy is correct. The maximum allowable peak particle velocity of 1 inch per second or less
ground motion and a maximum allowable airblast of 129 dBL applies to the nearest structure that
is not owned by Lafarge. Your definition of a structure is correct.
If you have any questions, please give me a call at 303-866-4060.
Sincerely,
James Dillie
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Harry Posey (e-mail) ,
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Ceologlcal5uc~ey
