The County feels it has met all applicable portions of the
Reclamation Plan requirements. The Debetz Pit site is owned by the County, therefore Part
(2)(a) of Section 4.16 -the notification of the county and landowner should be satisfied.
The most recent inspection occurred on December 1 I, 2003. The report states that files aze
somewhat confusing in regazds to the permit acreage and boundaries. Appazently the original
permit was for 72.35 acres and extended into the Dunes Golf Course. It appears much of the
permit area was never mined (or if it was, it has been reclaimed as a golf course). After
discussing the matter with you, it appears the DMG would approve a partial release of the
mining permit/warranty for the azea within the golf course.
The actively mined azea surrounding the lake, primarily to the northeast of the lake, is still in
need of reclamation and would remain under warranty. I am submitting a separate map to
delineate the area that would still be under the warranty/mining permit. This would help to cleaz
up any ambiguity for both the DMG and the County on location of the mining permit boundary.
The December 11 inspection report listed two possible violations; the permit boundary not
adequately marked, and no mine ID sign at entrance. Both violations have been corrected and I
look forward to meeting with you on June 28 at 1:30pm to tour the site.
Singcerely,~~
ii`~CG /..~GtC' .~tc'~cr
Marc Pedrucci
Natural Resource Analyst
Adams County Pazks
Cc: Rick Anderson
Craig Tessmer
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Elaine T.
