RECEIVED
U

•
Exhibit L A~~ 2
Reclamation Costs Division of Minerals and GeoloBY
Reclamation costs have been estimated using assumptions based on the approved Mining
and Reclamation Plans for this Permit, recommendations contained in the Slope Stability
Report by Greg Lewicki P. E. (Exhibit S-Permanent Man Made Structures) and the
increased azea of the proposed Amendment.
Amendment #3 proposes to add approximately 500 feet to the shoreline length of the lake
that will remain following completion of gravel mining and reclamation of the site. The
tasks that are required to reclaim this additional disturbed area will be:
Rough grading of the final pit perimeter slope to 3 (h) to 1 (v),
Transport and placement of overburden material on the final slopes,
Grading of overburden material to achieve approved thickness (6-8 inches on level
aeeas and 6 inches on sloped areas),
Seed bed preparation,
Revegetation planting.
The additional slope area that the proposed Amendment #3 will add will be 500 feet of
slope length multiplied by the expected slope length (27 feet x 3 = 81 feet) at the new
lakeshore area or 40,500 squaze feet. Additional azea at the existing ground level will
require reclamation, as well. The extent of disturbed area at the perimeter of the pit is
expected to be limited to the area required for overburden soil storage berms,
approximately 25 feet. The total area of land expected to be disturbed near the top of the
final pit slopes will be 500 feet x 25 feet or 12,500 square feet.
Reclamation Cost Estimate
Task
Grading pit slopes (3:1)
Transport & place soil
Fine grading soil
Seed bed preparation
Reveg: Plant Seed Mix
-Buy Seed Mix
Reveg.-Apply Mulch
-Buy Mulch
Total Direc[ Cost
Project Management
Total Cost
Reclamation costs aze expected to be approximately $3,000 for the proposed Amendment
#3 area.
Area Equipment Production Hours Cost/hour Cost
1 acre Cat D7 dozer 700 cy/hr 12 $85/hr 1020
1 acre Cat D7 dozer 200cy/hr 4 $85/lu 340
1 acre Cat 140 H motor grader 0.75 acre/hs 2 $80Ru 160
1.5 acre Cat 140 H motor grader 0.75 acre/hr 2 $80/hr 160
1.5 acre Tractor & seed drill 0.5 acre/hr 3 $60/hr 180
300
1.5 acre Straw blower 2 acre/hr ] $60/hr 60
300
2520
252
2772
