Walther
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cottony
Acting Division Director
The Division of Minerals and Geology has reviewed Lafarge West's request for release of
"Area A" at the above referenced site. All the necessary documentation was submitted in
AM-01 and approved on 3126103, to change the post mine land use to conform to Eagle
County's end use wishes. In the Amendment process as noted by yourself, the financial
warranty was recalculated to reflect the release of "Area A"; current conditions and
projected future mining. Since Area A was the main focus of AM-01, AR-01 is the final
formality for the release of the 14 acres in this area. Therefore, staff is approvingAR-01
for the release of Area A, approximately 14 acres, from the permitted site. The total
permitted acreage for the above referenced permit has been reduced by 14 acres to a total
of 135 acres.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and
Geology, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
~~~I~.Gfa' ~1~~
G.
