by Mr. Rudy Fontanari of Clifton, Colorado at a nearby site
designated as the Western Slope Flagstone Quarry No. 2.
The alluvial fan materials consist of a very coarse fraction of
basalt cobbles and large boulders up to 10 feet in size with a
clay, sand, and gravel matrix. The percentages of each size
of material are only an estimation; screening of several large
samples would be required to more accurately determine gradings.
The visual examinations also suggest that sand and gravel
are not present in large percentages, as the clay and silt and
very coarse sizes seem to dominate.
Prepared by;
BARNES GEOLOGIC CONSULTING, INC.
~.~ h. ~~~
Joe G. Barnes, President
Engineering Geologist
8011 `~
AIPG
.._~ .._
4
