~~~ElVIE[3 <br />COOLEY RESERVOIR AND FULTON WILDLIFE AREA PIT <br />AMENDMENT NO. 1 - JERONIMUS PROPERTY JL`~~ ~ E ZOO3 <br />(Revised 06/03) <br />EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN Oivisian of Minerals and Ceel~sy,. <br />Aggregate Industries - WCR, Inc. (AI) is proposing to add 50.21 acres to an existing 348.96 acres <br />sand, gravel, and borrow material mining operation permitted under DMG M-99-034. The additional <br />acreage is located East of the Fulton Ditch and South of 1040' Avenue in Section 16, T2S, R67W of <br />the 60i Principal Meridian, Adams County, Colorado. The property is presently owned by Michael <br />A. and Michaleen A. Jeronimus (50%) and James W. Gardner and Allyson S. Gardners (50%) ,who <br />have entered into a contract to sell the property to AI. The depth of the resources to be mined is <br />approximately 30', and is underlain by pierce shale bedrock. The map included as EXHIBIT B of this <br />application depicts the property. It is a combined USGS map with the existing proposed permit area <br />outlined as Parcels A, B, C-1, C-2, C-3, D-1, D-Z, and D-3, as well as this additional area identified <br />as Parcels E-1 and E-Z. The two expansion parcels are separated by Xcel Energy right-of--way <br />property of 210' in width, but there are two 30' easements for access between the two parcels. The <br />permit boundaries overlap two USGS Quad maps, the Eastlake Quad and the Commerce City <br />Quadrangle. With the addition of this 50.21 acres, the permit azea is expanded to a total 399.17 acres. <br />This document was prepared by ADCO Consulting on behalf of AI, but some of the specific exhibits <br />have been prepared by the Applegate, Group Inc. and other consultants. The Reclamation Permit <br />Exhibits for the DMG will also be submitted concurrently to Adams County by ADCO Consulting, <br />along with other items required for County government approval of a Conditional Use Permit for <br />mining. <br />The first map insert, EXHIBIT C-1, SHEET 1 of 2, Pre-Mining Map -Existing & Proposed <br />Boundaries/Shallow Wells within 600' shows graphically the relationship of the proposed Amendment <br />No. 1 azea to the existing permit's boundaries. This sheet also shows graphically from information <br />in EXI37BIT G, the location of shallow wells within 600' of the proposed Amendment No. 1 area. <br />The second map insert, EXI~IT C-1 PRE-MINING PLAN MAP SHEET 2 of 2 shows graphically <br />the adjacent property owners, the name and location of surface features, existing topography, water <br />resources, and structures within 200' of the boundaries of the Amendment No. 1 area. A complete <br />list of corresponding addresses for each is included in Exhibit O. A description of the man made <br />structures within the permit area and within 200' of the permit area is described in Exhibit S. The <br />topographic mapping obtained from Adams County fromjoint Adams County/Urban Drainage and <br />Flood Control Mapping that was undertaken in 1997, and was also utilized for the existing permit <br />(M-99-034). The floodplain information was also taken from FEMA Flood Insurance maps and <br />UD&FCD data. EXHIBIT C-1 -PRE-MINING PLAN MAP SHEET 2 of 2 also shows and lists Soil <br />Information, and a brief description of Vegetative Cover within the permit area. More detailed Soil <br />Information is provided in EXHIBIT I. More Vegetation Information is provided in EXHIBIT J. <br />EXHIBIT H should be consulted for Wildlife Information by including two letters from the Colorado <br />Division of Wildlife. <br />
