EX MBIT G-- WATER INFORMATION
(1) There are no known aquifers within the mining horizons or in the vicinity of the
mining area. The mining operation should have no impact on the water quality or
level of the underground water in the general vicinity.
(2) The gravel extraction, processing, and loading out will be preformed within
bermed work areas in order to contain and collect storm runoff and sediments that
may otherwise be carried to neighboring drainage.
(3) The operator has no plans for any type of process water on site. Due to the high
percolation rate of the soil for in which the pit be located and the fact that the
mining area will cover a relatively small acreage, the bermed mining and load out
areas are not expected to form detention ponds or standing water due to storm
events.
(4) It is assumed that the mine operator need not apply for National Pollution
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit from the Colorado Department of
Health and Environment. However, a Stormwater Discharge Permit will be
applied for.
8
