Cottony
Acting Division Director
DMG staff has completed the Surety Reduction request (SR-01) process for the above
referenced site. After a site inspection (enclosed), staff has recalculated the required
surety to complete reclamation. The recalculated costs for final reclamation are now
estimated at $2900.00 dollars. This estimate is below the $4000.00 bond request from
the Department of Energy. Therefore, per Rule 4.2.1(8) the Division will continue to hold
the required $100.00 bond and Cotter may submit a new bond to DOE for the requested
$4000.00. Staff has approved SR-01 for the reduction of the required surety to reflect
these chances.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and
Geology, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
