Cugnini, President <br />677 East Third Avenue <br />Durango, Colorado 81301 <br />Re: Reclamation Permit Amendment Notice <br />Deaz Pat: <br />Oldcastle S W Group, Inc. dba Four Comers Materials has applied to the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Boazd for permission to extend the gravel mining operation known as the Cugnini <br />Pit (Pemut No. M-1986-061), located in La Plata County. Notice to you of our intentions is <br />required, as your properly is the property on which the permit is located. Enclosed with this <br />letter is the required Public Notice that will appeaz in the Durango Herald for four consecutive <br />Sundays (beginning with the 160' of May 2004)- <br />The current permit encompasses 48 acres ofpasture and slope. We propose to expand the permit <br />to the north and to the southwest, achieving a total affected azea of approximately 99 acres. With <br />our estimated rate of production, gravel mining may be finished in 2011, with reclamation <br />essentially complete one yeaz later. <br />The complete application package, including maps and detailed plans of the proposed operation, <br />are available at our office; at the La Plata County Clerk's Office; and at the Durango and Denver <br />offices of the Division of Minerals and Geology. We would welcome the opportunity to show <br />you the plans for this project.
