PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />Prepare plans and specifications for each feld or <br />Treatment unit according to the Criteria. <br />Considerations and Operation and hlalntenance <br />sections of this standard. Specifications shall <br />describe the requirements for applying This <br />practiceto meetlhelntended purpose. <br />Record practice specifications on speciGcaUon <br />sheets, Job sheets, narrative statements in the <br />conservation plan, or other acceptable <br />documentation. <br />Specifications shall address the following <br />elements, as applicable, to meat the Intended <br />purpose. <br />• Type of mulch material used <br />• Percent cover andlor thickness of mulch <br />material <br />• Tuning of application <br />• Site preparation <br />• Listing of netting, tackifiers. or method of <br />anchonny <br />• Operation and n,arntenarce. <br />OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE <br />Pdulched areas veil be perod:cally inspected, and <br />mulch shall be reinstaCeU or repaired as needed <br />to accomplish lho intended purpose. <br />Removal, incorporation, bw- or photo•degradabon <br />01 mulch and associated materials shall be <br />consistent with the intended purpose antl sdo <br />conddions. <br />Operation of ogwpment near and on the silo shall <br />not compromise the intended purpose of the <br />mulch. <br />Prevent or repair any fire damage to the mulch <br />material. <br />Properly collect and dispose of artificial mulch <br />material after Intended use. <br />f.4onitor and control undesirable weeds ~n <br />mu'ched areas. <br />REFERENCES <br />Agrlcuiture and Ayri•Food Canada. 2000.
