Adequacy of the CN-001 Application 4 May 26, 2004
Mascot Placer Permit No. M-1998-052
response will be enforceable permit limitations that may not be exceeded without appropriately
modifying the permit and adjusting the reclamation bond.
Exhibit L also lists a cost of $10,000.00 for structure dismantle and clean up. Please describe the
structures to be erected at the site including dimensions, building materials (e.g. wood, steel, etc.}, and
foundations and footings.
With your response to item 1 of this letter, soil and planting information, the DMG will estimate a cost
for soil amendments and revegetation. To facilitate this task, please specify the maximum acreage that
may require these treatments at any point during the life of the operation. If you specify an acreage
amount that is less than the total acreage of affected land, then reclamation concurrent with mining
operations will become a requirement of the permit. You aze encouraged to make such a commitment
to concurrent reclamation, which will reduce the amount of bond to be required, to the extent that the
degree of concurrent reclamation committed to in the permit will not interfere with ongoing mining,
processing, and stockpiling operations (refer to section 34-32.5-116(4)(q)(I) C.R.S.).
Please provide responses to the above listed issues as soon as possible to maintain the June 14, 2004
date for consideration for the CN-001 application. A copy of this letter and your responses must be
filed with the Summit County Clerk and Recorder on or before the date that your responses are
provided to the DMG, and an affidavit or receipt demonstrating such filing must be submitted to the
DMG. Also, please provide proof of newspaper publication and adjacent landowner notification as
soon as these items become available.
If you have any questions, I may be contacted at 303-866-4063.
Sincerel
l
Allen C.
