Wildlife Resource Information System (WRIS) <br />• Northern EaglelSouthem Routt Greater Sage-Grouse Conservation Plea <br />• CDOW Rodio-Collared Greater Sage-Grouse Study: 2003 -Present <br />We would like to note that the Regular (112) Operation Reclamation Permit Application Form on the CD you <br />provided far our review appeared to be missing a portion of the application for Icing Mountain Sand and <br />Grave] Mine prepazed by Banks and Gesso. Subsequently, we was only able to review the Introduction and <br />Ex}ubit A. Exhibit B through Exhibit S was not included on the copy of the CD we received, nor were <br />Attachments A-C. If you would like the CROW to provide you with additional comments regarding those <br />documents, please forward them at your earliest convenience for our review, <br />CDOW SUMMARY OF PROPOSED PROJECT: <br />The existing gravel pit previously operated by Frank Hewes, now called King Mountain Sand & Gravel Mine <br />is located in agricultural rangeland approximately 5 miles west of Topanas; CO. The property is located oa the <br />southwest portion of an area locally referred to as Five Pores Mesa. The current pit is permitted for 10 acres, <br />and has been part of an active mining operation. The petitions is requesting that the peimit acreage be <br />expanded from this initial 10 acres to 341 acres. It is our understanding that the petitions only intends to mine <br />184 of the 341 aces with no more than 67 acres being disturbed at any given time. The proposed mining <br />operation will be to mine construction aggregates, and the petitions is proposing to complete mining in foul <br />separate phases ova a 20-yeaz period.
