All landscaping and revegetation should use only native species. I strongly encourage revegetation with
native grasses including tall wheat grass, intermediate wheat grass, switch grass. Some trees and shrubs that
should be considered in the revegetation effort are native plum, cottonwood and willow. These native plantings
should be done throughout the reclaimed area, but with some concentrations on the shorelines.
Future development in the site in the light industrial and possibly residential areas could have long term
impacts. The Division of Wildlife is available to assist in the mitigation process for these developments in any
way possible.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to comment on this development. I welcome the chance to be
involved inland use changes in this azea. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions
regazding these comments or with any future concerns. I will be available to help during the reclamation
process to improve the wildlife value of the site.
Should you feel that some significant habitat feature is present on the site, or have further questions or
concerns, please call me at (303) 2° 1-?132. I appreciate the opportunity to comment on projects such as
this.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Durno
District Wildlife Manager
Colorado Division of Wildlife
6060 Broadway
Denver, CO 80216
5
