Approximately 916,500 bank yd' of overburden and 252,500 bank yd' of washed fines
will result from the land remaining to be mined.
The following table provides an estimate of the material necessary for the reclamation
plan:
Reclamation Requirement Quantity (loose
yds)
^ Backfill slopes (1:1 to 3:1) 420,000
Site-wide final grading 250,000
Cover existing impoundment areas 150,000
Construct future impoundment area
includin interior cell berms 280,000
• Cover future impoundment area 100,000
Total 1,200,000 yd
Approximately 1.2M loose yd3 of material are required to implement the reclamation
plan. However, 0.91 M bank yd3 of overburden are available for use in reclamation.
Applying a swell factor of 25% to the bank overburden volume results in approximately
1.13M loose yd' of overburden available for reclamation. The small deficit can be made
up with screened fines. This is a more than adequate volume of material on site to
implement the reclamation plan shown in this Technical Revision. Screened fines not
used in reclamation will be sold off-site. Products not sold can be used in the final
reclamation of the plant site area.
This Technical Revision pertains only to the western Spicer and McKay leases (E'/z
SW'/< and W'/z S'/< of Section 4, and portions of Section 9) and not to the area to the
east know as the Spicer Extension. The Spicer Extension will remain (and is shown on
the accompanying maps) just as it is currently permitted.
