The
permit is in the process of Succession of Operators at this time.
A technical revision to the permit is being requested for the following reasons:
At the present time the site is permitted for 448 acres of disturbed area. The new permit
Successor would like to decrease the disturbed area to approximately 70 acres, which would
include the area previously mined. The area that has previously been mined is in the northwest
section of the permit area. The amount of acreage previously mined is approximately 14 acres.
The site will be permitted for 448 acres, with 70 acres to be disturbed.
The mining will proceed from West to East and advance South, in the same manner as the
original permit. Topsoil /overburden wi[( be stripped and stockpiled from the designated permit
area located in the northwest section of the site. This material will be stockpiled for later use in
reclamation.
This site will be a dry mining operation. The mining methods will be consistent throughout the
life of the mine.
Equipment to be utilized for processing will include but is not limited to, front end loaders,
scrapers, bulldozers, haul trucks, water trucks, crushers, screens, and conveyor belts.
After topsoiU overburden is removed and stockpiled using a scraper, mining will begin.
Reclamation will be concurrent with mining in that reclamation will occur on mined 10 acres as
mining proceeds to next 10 acres. Reclamation will be an ongoing process throughout the life of
the mine. Slopes will be constructed 3:1 where necessary. Fines and overburden will be used to
