III CO IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Op O
Ne. Q, o DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
y * David H.Getches,Executive Director
" MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
} 1876 s DAVID C.SHELTON, Director
Richard D.Lamm
Governor
January 29, 1985
Mr. Rich Ziegler
Manager of Administration
Cotter Corporation
9305 W. Alameda Parkway, Suite 201
Lakewood, Colorado 80226
Re: Ike No. 1 Mine, File No. 77-451
Dear Mr. Ziegler:
On January 24, 1985, the Mined Land Reclamation Board approved the transfer of
permit and succession of operators for the Ike No. 1 Mine from Anschutz Mining
Corporation to Cotter Corporation and adjusted the amount of the financial
warranty to $5,000.00. The replacement financial and performance warranties
have already been received and approved by our Division and placed in the
State Treasurer' s vault for safekeeping. Furthermore, the succession of
operators form has been signed by our Division Director, and a copy of the
form is enclosed for your files. The original is to be retained in our file
for this mine.
Anschutz Mining Corporation will also be sent a copy of the approved
succession form and, since their warranties have been released as of the date
of approval of the succession of operators, these warranties will be returned
to them upon retrieval from the State Treasurer' s vault. Their responsibility
for this operation has now been terminated.
Cotter Corporation is now the official operator of this mine and has all of
the responsibilities for it under the terms of the approved mining and
reclamation permit. I suggest that you acquire a copy of the permit and
associated documentation from Anschutz Mining in order to thoroughly apprise
yourself of Cotter' s responsibilities for this site. If you feel that this
documentation is not complete, you should plan to come in to our office and
review this file and copy any items you may lack.
Please feel free to call me if you have any question.
Sincerely,
`/Y4C2
Mark S.
