Approval of the Cameo Gravel Pit Conditional Use Permit
WHEREAS, Rudy Fontanari represented by Walter Eldridge sought approval for
a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for a gravel extraction, crushing stockpiling, equipment
storage area, and sales operation on Agricultural, Forestry, Transitional (AFT) zoned
within the County of Mesa, State of Colorado, to wit:

WHEREAS, [he public hearing before [he Board of County Commissioners was
held on May I5, 2001,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE
COUNTY OF MESA FINDS AS FOLLOWS:
That the hearing before the Board was held after proper notice,
That the staff project recommendation was contained in a revised project review
dated May 7, 2001,
That the application is in accordance with relevant Mesa County Land Use
Policies and the health, safety and welfare of the residents of'Mesa County,
That [he application meets Section 3.1.1 ZA., B. & C. and Section 3.8.7. A - F of
the 2000 Mesa County Land Development Code and meets the intent of the Mesa
Countywide Land Use Plun.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OP THE COUNTY OF MESA: that the request For a Conditional
Use Permit (CUP) fur a gravel extraction, crushing stockpiling, equipment storage azea
and sales operation on Agricultural, Porcstry, "transitional (AF1) zoned property is
hereby •rpproved with the following stipulations,
I. A state highway access permit must be obtained prior to commencement
of the gravel operation.
2. All extraction activity must maintain a 100 foot setback from centerline of
Rapid Creek Road, and the Ute Water property line to the east.
3. The haul road crossing the Ute water pipeline shall be reinforced by the
petitioners to avoid any damage to the Ute Water pipeline. Any damage
that does occur to [he Ute Water pipeline, as a result of hauling shall be
repaired at the expense of the operators. (grovel pir owners).
4. Hours of operation must conform with Section 5.2.13.H of the 2000 Mesa
County Land Development Code.
5. No blasting allowed.
6. No removal of surface landscape or rip/rap material south of the Ute Water
Property, such removal 1}om other areas well be allowed.
7. The operator must conform to the operation plan, drainage control, and [he
reclamation and re-vegetation plan submitted to Mesa County as part of
this petition including hours of operation between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.nt.,
seven days a week.
8. The operator must conform [o with Section 5.2.13 Mining and Extractive
Uses of the 2000 Mesa County Land Development Code.
9. All required State of Colorado permits must be acquired and evidence
submitted to the Mesa County Planning and Development Department
prior to the issuance of the conditional use permit, including:
