under irrigation by a local farmer, so depths during mining are expected to be lower than the levels
measured, but the mining plan will still be based upon these measurements
La Salle Aggregate Reserves, LLC currently owns the property where Haldorson and Sons is
permitted to mine. Recently, La Salle Aggregate Reserves acquired land adjacent to the permit area
which contains the former Metcalf Pit of Western Gravel, Inc. This pit has been primarily reclaimed
by Western Gravel, but it will be reopened in one azea under this 2004 Amendment to the Haldorson
Sand and Gravel Mine. Additionally, Haldorson and Sons has gained permission to mine on the Bean
property which is immediately adjacent to La Salle Aggregate Reserves' property. Haldorson and
Sons is amending their existing permit in order to include these additional areas. Forty acres of the
current permit are being removed for this amendment while 68 acres are being added onto the eastern
portion of the permit azea. The amended permit azea is 182.6 acres.
The current land use on the property is imgated fields. After reclamation is completed, the land will
be restored back to irrigated fields. The mining of La Salle Aggregate Reserves' and James Bean's
Property is consistent with the nearby land-use as can be seen on Map B-2 there are currently and
have been in the past several gravel mines in the immediate vicinity.
The enclosed document is a fully revised amendment for the Haldorson Sand and Gravel Mine, based
on the additional lands.
The Metcalf Pit will be absorbed into this operation. This CDMG permit (M-94-083) will be
abandoned.
Haldorson Sand and Gravel Mine 2
